Portrait Strobing

This strobing was done in Putrajaya with sweety Xiao Ru as our model. Thanks for the time and effort spent. The participants were Woody, Chin Hong, Yung Kiet, Dick & Gary.

The following were the photos taken:

"What photo is this?? Can't see who it is at all!! So dark!!"
Yes, no doubt it is dark photo but I am actually trying to show that this photo is creating a hair light to show details...hehe!!

How about this?? This look like the model too tire and going for bed time...haha!! Remember, always communicate with your model and don't just keep shooting.

This not bad overall. A nice smile and a very good eye looking position. The key light falls on the face pretty soft and even, the fill light that shinning on the model's hair quite well and it shows some detail. I feel that this photo need to improve two things:
1. The shadow a bit harsh on the right of the model's shoulder, fill light is needed to overcome it.
2. A additional flash behind model is needed to create profile light and also to separate the subject and background.

The same goes for this photo. Lack of hair light and profile light. But Xiao Ru still look sweet...haha!!
Come to this, it has made me to realise one mistake...give yourself a minute to think what's wrong with this model. 1, 2, 3, 4.........58, 59, 60!! Ok, times up!!. Let me tell you, I don't like the model's hair because it was not well combed. It is so obvious when a light is flash from behind of the model. Profile light is good at the hair area but should improve on the shoulder side. Anyway.....come back to the point, please always advise models to comb and tidy up their hair as they cannot see themselve until they look from the photo!!!

A warm welcome....

Hi readers,

First of all, I feel very glad that you have stop-by to view my blog. Therefore, I would like to take this great opportunity to greet you a very warm welcome with full of sincere.

Basically this blog will post more on The Art of Photography as I am addicted to camera shooting since 2008 and I consider myself Nikonian as I am using DSLR Nikon D90. Furthermore, with the encouragement from the friend of mine, he (chin hong) had requested me a few times to blog those photos that I shot. That's why I am motivated and decided to share it to all of you.

Ok, nothing much to express. I hope you enjoy my blog and thank you!

Best regards,
Woody
